The Engineering Division researches all deeds and related materials in support of the Assessors’ Office, and keeps the 182 Assessors’ Plans up-to-date. The Division also provides deeds and/or legal descriptions for takings of sewer, water, and drainage easements, street layouts, corner takings, abandonment, and for city land sales.
The Engineering Division also maintains records of sewer assessments, sidewalk and curbing betterments, and other lines in support of the Treasurer/Collector’s Office, in addition to drafting zoning maps and changes and legal descriptions for City Council action. “Legal Lot Determination” for the city’s Zoning Enforcement Officer and the City Solicitor’s Office is also done through the Engineering Division.
